If you are a graphic designer or just a graphic enthusiast, and are tired of the same True Type Fonts, here is a nice tool that can help you create your all-new fonts of your own. With this tool, you can start from a scratch your True Type Font, or edit the existing ones. For those who don´t understand what a True Type Font is, let me explain you in few words. True Type Fonts are files which contain a group of instructions that, when interpreted by a program such as text editor (i.e. MS Word) or graphics design (Adobe CS3, CorelDraw) is able to create texts whose letters have certain shapes. Those shapes have become very popular and, in some cases, are the standard for official, school, corporation or company profile´s papers. An example is the “Times New Roman” or the “Courier New” fonts. We have seen them in many books or publications, even on advertisements or publicity, and we haven´t noticed them. After saying this. I can continue explaining what Font Creator is capable of doing. The designer or Typographer, can start by scanning its own handwriting or a company logo, for example, and from that begin creating a font file by modifying the appearance of the letters. In the professional edition, the program can speed up the creation of a Font File with powerful transformation scripts that speed up the glyph design process. In this way, you can create hundreds of additional characters in seconds. Some additional features of this program include: Add missing characters, edit and regenerate font names, Transform individual glyphs or an entire font to create the bold version, preview fonts prior installation and more. There are also available the home version, the professional version and even a new 5.6 version, this last one can be purchased online. |
